There are a lot of major sporting events coming up, so we have a lot of different things to cover on this page! Some of it (well, all of it!) is quite exciting too. Should we dive in? That way, when you log into your preferred online casino, betting site or one of the many new gambling sites we recommend, you have all the knowledge to help you make the right choices!
World Cup
The World Cup is quite exciting this year. Other than Brazil, all of the favourites have been knocked out of the cup. This means that England actually has a chance. There is a chance! Could this be the year that football finally comes home?
At the time of writing, it is about eight hours away from England’s second-round kick-off against Colombia. If they win (which we anticipate will), they will face either Sweden or Switzerland in the quarters. This means they have a possible chance of getting through to the semis, and the competition there won’t be that high either. There is a real chance that Southgate’s team could take the cup at the end…if they don’t fluff it all.
Realistically, we reckon Brazil will be walking away with the cup. With Germany and Spain out, very little stands in their way now. Maybe France, but even then…Nah. Brazil all the way (or England, if we are going to be patriotic)
Wimbledon
Love to bet on Wimbledon? Andy Murray has pulled out of Wimbledon this year. This means we have no quality Brit to get behind. We suppose you could root for Tim Henman like decades gone by, but since he is probably a bit too old to compete at the tournament, it would be a pretty unsafe bet!
For Wimbledon, we actually reckon that Djokovic has a chance. He did lose at Queen’s in the final, but it looks like some of his form issues had finally been cast to one side, and he is performing well. As long as confidence does not get the better after that loss, then we reckon the tournament is in the bag for him. It looks like he has a decent couple of matches coming up at Wimbledon too, during the early stages, which means that he will be able to get some confidence under him, which could do well for the later stages of the tournament.
If you want a good outside bet, then Nick Kyrgios has everything you need in a player. Honestly, he could probably win the tournament with the raw skill, but he is just awful when it comes to mentality. He has off days, and there is a chance he won’t be able to maintain a positive mentality throughout the match. Good bet, but risky.
WWE Extreme Rules PPV
Ever since the leaker for the winners of matches at PPVs for the WWE was fired, it has become increasingly difficult to predict who will win what. This is fantastic for you because it means you get better odds. Of course, in the past, because the names of the predetermined winners were leaked in advance, you were not going to make anything at all if you bet. That is no longer the case. The next upcoming event is WWE Extreme Rules, which is shaping to be quite a stunner.
With the AJ Styles and Rusev matchup, you can expect AJ Styles to walk away from the winner. While Rusev is loved by the crowd, we think that WWE wants to keep the belt on Styles for a little bit longer. He is already one of the longest-reigning champions in the game.
Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins will go head to head in a ‘no holds barred’ thirty-minute epic match. Who is going to win? Stick your money on Seth Rollins for this one.
In the Women’s Championship, it is Carmella and Asuka. We can’t look beyond Asuka for this one. It would completely ruin her character otherwise.
John Deere Classic Predictions
We are going to wrap up this page with a golf event. Sure, the John Deere Classic is probably not the biggest event on the PGA calendar, but it will surely provide some interesting watching.
Despite the kick-off being a few days away, we still do not have a complete list of players. Still, we do think last year’s winner (Bryson DeChambeau) is in with a shout if he ends up competing in the event, and this should be a pretty decent bet for anybody.
